We are going to spend our 2nd wedding anniversary in Hawaii!!
We leave tonight after work and will be driving up to Atlanta to spend the evening and tomorrow morning with our dear friends, the Russis, and from there we jet set off to the islands for a full seven days 🙂
Of course, be sure to follow along on instagram and snapchat (afontenot_ss) to follow along on all the fun! First things first, though – packing.
I heard from a coworker recently that you’re supposed to start packing a week ahead for a long trip. That way you give yourself enough time to add and subtract things that you may or may not want – and it’s easier to make sure you don’t forget anything. I heeded that advice this time – because normally I’m rushing around at the last minute like a chicken with my head cut off and ALWAYS forget something. I think this time may just be a success, though!
I wanted to share with you a few of the packing tools that I found for the trip (mostly off Amazon.com) and am absolutely loving. I’ve linked to them below. I also thought I’d give you a little peek as to a few of the accessories and products that I’m bringing along as well!
I had originally gone looking for shoe bags that would keep the sand and dirt out of my bag and the rest of my clothes – but then I saw this neat little case and thought it would be even better. I was able to fit four pairs of shoes in in!
This little bag is for – shhhh – your intimates! It has pouches in the lid that hold undies and the large part is for your braziers 🙂 It also comes with a little bag that you can bring home laundry in!
Of course, small containers are a must for cosmetics and beauty products – and I found a great pack of them with just about any shape or size you’d want or need.
I came across this set of cute little bags when I was looking for shoe bags. They certainly could be used for such, but I also thought they would be great for transporting knick-knacks, laundry, bathing suits – or just about anything else you could think of! I got myself this cute peach color and I got G a set too in the coffee color.I learned somewhere that you’re supposed to get a new perfume before a trip – that way every time you smell that smell it reminds you of fond memories 🙂 I don’t know if it’s a necessity for every single trip you take – but I thought this special occasion warranted a little splurge.. and boy does this Roses de Chloe smell like an absolute dream.
This little folding jewelry bag was, I thought, an absolute must-have for a long trip. With all of its little compartments it will definitely help keep my jewelry organized and tangle free! It even has a special spot where velcro loops keep your necklaces separated from each other and another spot where you can slide your rings on a circular cushion. Plus – it hangs too!
And that’s it! I hope you will pin this post and maybe refer back to it before your next trip 🙂 In the meantime, follow along as I go on mine!

Thank you so much Heather! 🙂 My exact duffle is actually sold out, but I linked to some very similar luggage by the same designer here and here.
