This past Saturday, G and I got up and drove about an hour north to an apple orchard called Mercier Orchards to celebrate October and the coming of Fall with a little apple picking. We had gone last year with our friends and when we learned that we were moving to Atlanta I was so excited to be moving close to the orchards. There’s something so relaxing and fun about strolling through the rows of apple trees nonchalantly plucking some, occasionally (or, if you’re G, constantly) tasting some and actually putting some in your bag to bring home. Tree ripened fruit really is the best 🙂
For our little adventure, I wore this comfy white turtleneck (I actually found mine in a shop in Canada last month, but this one is VERY close to the same!), a pair of my favorite deconstructed jeans and cognac booties.
After picking, we stopped in at a local restaurant down the road for a snack and a drink before making the drive back. The restaurant was called the Black Sheep and, y’all, it was so delicious. If G hadn’t have been so stuffed on the many apples he consumed in the field, we probably would have eaten more.. much more 😉 I had a cider that was made from the orchard we had just gone too and G had a beer that tasted like butterscotch and bourbon (sounds weird, but so good!) and then we split a small plate of pork belly pieces topped with seared scallops.. to.die.for.
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Here’s to a brand new week and a fresh start 🙂
