a maternity essential.
Okay, so maybe I can’t claim these are “the best” maternity jeans, since I’ve only ever owned or tried on two pairs. However, these AG maternity jeans are SO DARN COMFORTABLE. I found them on a recommendation from my good friend, who said they were worth every penny.. and boy, was she right. I think these could have sustained me throughout an entire pregnancy by themselves, but I really liked the distressed style and knew that I would need a non-distressed pair as well (so I bought this pair, too).
Also, I’m pleasantly surprised by the way this peplum top looks and fits over a bump. I’ve always been a fan of the peplum style, but was apprehensive as to whether it worked for maternity wear. It does, guys 😉
Okay, so I’d never really understood why maternity jeans had that weird band that goes over your belly. It always seemed so hot, uncomfortable and inconvenient to me. But, when you’re carrying an extra 10-25+ pounds, the extra support feels so good.

Well, friends, my adventure into maternity clothes has officially begun. It was scary and a little disheartening at first, but I’ve quickly come to realize that, not only is it easier than I thought to find stylish maternity wear, but its about something much more important. My need for bigger clothes shouldn’t be centered around the fact that my body is getting bigger. Rather, I should focus on the privilege and joy that I’m getting to experience in growing another life in my womb. I get choked up just thinking about it and pray I’ll never take this tiny human inside me for granted.
