I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since I’ve given a bumpdate! We’ve made it to the third trimester, folks! I’ve taken a little bit of a hiatus from blogging and social media in general lately mostly because there has been so much going on and I’m having a hard time keeping up!
They say a lot of your first trimester symptoms can come back with a vengeance during the third. My main symptom at the beginning was extreme fatigue and I can tell you that it has definitely come back in full force. I’m doing well these days if I can get home from work and make dinner. Usually by around 8:30 I’m asleep on the couch, only to be woken up a few hours later by G to say we need to go upstairs and then I pass right back out. It’s not the most glamorous lifestyle, but I’m grateful for how far we’ve come and that this has been a low key and healthy pregnancy thus far!
bumpdate.
Bump Analysis: I officially can’t wear any bottoms other than my maternity jeans and someone felt confident enough that I was pregnant to ask me when I’m due at the store the other day – so I feel legit now 😉
Month/Trimester: 7 months [28 weeks] / 3rd trimester
Food of the week: A large eggplant!
Development: Baby F can blink his eyes and may be able to see the light that filters in through my body. He weighs about 2 and a quarter pounds and is about 15 inches long from head to toe.
Movement: He definitely likes to make his presence known. I’ve learned that he sleeps and wakes at pretty regular intervals at this point and if he’s awake when I eat he usually starts kicking and moving around at the first sign of food 😉
Name: FSF 🙂
mom update.
Symptoms: Fatigue and the occasional leg cramp!
Cravings: I was actually discussing with G last night what I’d like my first meal to be after we leave the hospital lol! A turkey sub, queso and chips and a (small) glass of rose, please!
Aversions: Eggs.
Sleep: As often as possible.
Maternity Clothes: I haven’t purchased anything specifically “maternity” lately, although I already know what my next purchases will be: a maternity dress for our maternity/christmas card photoshoot and a dress to wear to my baby shower 🙂
Exercise: G, the dogs and I have been taking pretty regular walks around the neighborhood after we get home from work. It’s the part of my weekday that I really look forward to – no matter how tired I am 🙂
Wedding Rings: On!
Stretch Marks: None, thanks to my handy dandy butters and oils.
looking forward.
Preparations for Baby: G put up a ceiling fan in the nursery this weekend since there was no light fixture in there at all before. We also went on a hospital tour on Saturday and got to see/learn exactly what to expect on delivery day. I highly recommend going on a tour before baby for all you mama-to-be’s out there! Warning, though.. The lady that was walking us through everything described what exactly happens at “the moment of birth” and as she was speaking I found myself wiping away anxious/happy/grateful tears.. It’ll definitely play with your emotions!
Labor Signs: Nope!
What I miss: With all the pumpkin-related flavors coming out in full-force I was reminded recently of how much I miss a good pumpkin beer 😉 I know, surprise surprise, right??
Looking forward to: So many things.. But, during our hospital tour and while the lady was describing “the moment of birth” she told us that – as long as all was well with me and the baby – the doctors put off doing all of the baby’s screenings, measurememts, etc. and the main focus is to let baby have skin to skin contact and to give G and I the room with our little one for a whole hour. Nobody is allowed to come in or visit during this time… and I just thought that was so cool. Ever since she told us that it’s been at the forefront of my mind as something I’m so looking forward to. An hour of uninterrupted time with my sweet hubs and our new little gift from God… I truly can’t wait for that.
