maternity photos.
I’m so excited about today’s blog post! Not only do I get to share our maternity photos, but its also time for a bumpdate! Today marks 35 glorious weeks of pregnancy, which means only 2 more weeks until full term.. ah!
First things first, though: let’s talk about these photos.
Carolyn Allen Photography is run by one of my closest friends. We met just as I was about to graduate high school and later became roommates in college. Over time I’ve been privy to the kind of friendship that truly changes, challenges and helps you to grow into a better person. She’s been there from the beginning in terms of my relationship with G and we feel so immensely privileged getting to have her record memories now for two major life events. First, our engagement and now Baby F in bump form. She’ll also be taking his newborn portraits – so stay tuned for more breathtaking photos with a dose of cuteness! I can’t say enough about this sweet friend of mine and the obvious talent she portrays through photography. Take a look:
35 week bumpdate.
Bump Analysis: I feel huge lol! I’m becoming more and more uncomfortable and I think my fierce independence is to blame for feeling frustrated that I have to rely on G for things I used to be able to do myself. At the same time, I’m so grateful for the reminder that my body is not my own and being at this stage of pregnancy is such a sincere privilege.
Month/Trimester: 8.75 months [35 weeks] / 3rd trimester
Food of the week:.honeydew melon!
Development: Baby F is over 18 inches long and more than 5 pounds! His kidneys are fully developed and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his physical development is complete, so he’ll just be spending the rest of his time putting on weight!
Movement: Someone asked me the other day if I noticed him moving after I eat certain foods. My response to that is that he honestly moves all the time no matter what I eat, lol! He’s so big now that he moves my entire midsection with kicks and jabs and lately has been doing this thing where he pushes up against my left side and it turns my tummy from a round circle to more like a rectangle. It’s so strange, and so cool 😉
Name: FSF
Cravings: PB&J’s and Root Beer
Aversions: Nothing really lately! I even enjoyed some scrambled eggs yesterday.
Sleep: Sleeping is no longer easy, mostly because my left side is painful and uncomfortable to sleep on.
Maternity Clothes: I’ve picked up a few things recently and LOVE them: leggings, nursing tops, v-neck sweater
Exercise: Walking and stretching 🙂
Wedding Rings: Still on!
Stretch Marks: None, thanks to my handy dandy butters and oils.
Preparations for Baby: We installed the car seat! And I’ve begun to plan out and order things we’ll need for our hospital stay. I also just bought baby detergent so that I can start doing his laundry this week!
Labor Signs: I’ve been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions.. I’m convinced he’s coming early so I’m anxiously waiting for these to turn into the real thing 🙂
What I miss: The days before back cramps and rib pain.
Looking forward to: This week his rocking chair comes in so I should be able to completely finish his nursery by the weekend!
