This little gift guide can serve two purposes. Whether you’re attending a holiday gathering this year and don’t want to show up empty handed, or have someone on your gifting list who loves to host and entertain – this list of ideas will have you covered! As someone who falls under both of these categories (I’m also hosting Thanksgiving this year), I can personally vouch for each and every one of these gifts.

Now, if you’re wondering if a hostess gift is really necessary – then you’re probably a millennial (LOL). But the answer is – especially at the holidays – YES. Hosting a party or a big meal, no matter how much the hostess enjoys it, can be stressful and expensive! Both things we tend not to think about – but it’s true. Bringing a gift goes a long way in showing them you care and are grateful for them using their home, their time and their talents to have you.
Now, the trick with a hostess gift is to take some time to think about the person individually. What do they like? How do they enjoy spending their time? What would they actually use? How could you treat them to something they normally wouldn’t buy? Honestly – that’s the trick to any gift-giving! Ready to dive into my hostess gift ideas? Let’s do it.
2019 Hostess Gift Guide
1. Day Designer Planner – If you have someone in your life who loves to host, chances are they love to plan too. I personally ask for a planner every year as one of my Christmas gifts and this is the one specifically this year that I’m looking to score!
2. Winc – I talked about Winc today on my Instagram feed and stories and feel like it would be such a great gift to show up with this season. You can get a box of 4 wines curated to your hostess’ specific taste or simply bring some one-of-a-kind Winc wines to the party! Click here to receive 4 bottles + FREE shipping for $39!
3. Essential Oils – This gift set comes with a diffuser and all the essentials when it comes to any novice or experienced essential oil user. EO’s are known to help people relax and freshen up their homes – which is perfect for a host who’s spending their time and energy to entertain a bunch of people!
4. OLAPLEX Gift Set – You guys have heard me rave about OLAPLEX a lot recently and I think this would make such a perfect hostess gift. It’s a QUALITY product that will help your host invest in a little self-care this holiday season. Trust me when I say – she will thank you for this!
5. Chanel No. 5 Perfume – or any quality perfume out there. The idea is to help your host indulge in a little something they will truly enjoy. I mean – what girl wouldn’t love a bottle of Chanel as any gift?!
6. Volcano Candle – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this is the best smelling candle. I really don’t think you can go wrong by giving this candle to a hostess. If they’re anything like me, they like to burn candles before/during/after a get-together to set the mood and/or wind down after a long evening.
7. Cheese Serving Knives – I thought this set of cheese knives was the cutest. I almost always have a charcuterie or cheese board out as an appetizer whenever I’m hosting a get-together and can say whole heartedly that a nice set of cheese knives like this would be much appreciated – maybe paired with the scalloped marble tray I included in this guide!
8. Olive & June Manicure Set – Anything girly and self-care related makes for a GREAT hostess gift. Olive & June offers some seriously high quality nail polish – either by themselves or in a curated box full of everything she’ll need for the perfect manicure! Olive & June is starting their 25% off sitewide Cyber Week Sale starting this Sunday (11/24) and ending Monday (12/2) so it’ll be the perfect time to stock up on gifts for the hostess and other ladies in your life!
9. Personalized Wood Tray – In my opinion, you can never have enough serving trays and this one is to die for. Not only is it beautiful but you can engrave their monogram on it?! Yes please. This paired with a nice bottle of wine will go over SO well.
10. Personalized Tea Box – G and I gave a tea box similar to this one that was engraved and then we filled it with a variety of teas – to one of our good friends for their birthday one year and they LOVED it. If the hostess you know loves to relax with a nice hot cup of tea – this is the perfect gift!
11. Recipe Box – Every hostess has their go-to recipes, so why not give them someplace special to put them all? Better yet, gift them this set and write down a few of YOUR favorite recipes to go in it! This will make for such a personal, sweet and touching gift for anyone!
12. Monogrammed Soap & Towel Set – If this set doesn’t scream hostess gift, I don’t know what does! I’d personally love this as a gift. So simple, yet thoughtful and elegant and they’ll have something meaningful for their powder room for future gatherings!
13. Floral Apron – Every few years I love getting a new apron. If you’ve ever hosted a party, you know that usually there’s some sort of cooking, baking or cleaning going on right up to the start of the party and aprons really do help a host get things done without having to worry about wrecking her outfit. I think this apron paired with the recipe box or candle included here would be the perfect gift!
And there you have it, my friends. Do any of these hostess gifts strike a cord with you? I hope you found this post helpful! Stay tuned next Wednesday for my next set of gift guides!
