I’m excited to share our Thanksgiving table setting with you guys! This is our first holiday season in our new home and I’m going all out for this first major gathering. We are hosting my in-laws and two of our close friends this year and I can’t wait. I’m actually setting up for our Thanksgiving festivities much like I did when I threw my friend Aubrey a baby shower back in August – I’m even using the napkins we had left over from that party haha.

The buffet you see in these photos will be where I set up the desserts and dessert dishes and there will be stations set up in the kitchen for a charcuterie board (for grazing/appetizers), a station for drinks and then the main island in our kitchen will be where all the main course dishes get set up. Normally I try to fit the food on the table, but with two babies also sitting with us this year, it’s going to be pretty full! Plus, since we have plenty of counter space in the kitchen it just makes more sense to serve it buffet style. How do you guys do it?!
I’m going to be sharing with you guys this week on Instagram Stories how I’m setting up and preparing for Thursday so feel free to follow along. 🙂
Also, I wanted to draw your attention to these dishes! We’ve had mismatched, scratched and chipped dishes for years now. We started with one new set that we got as a wedding present 5 years ago and have since replaced and filled needs with random dishes here and there. Since we’re hosting in our new home we felt like it was time for some pretty new dishes and I’m in love with these! They’re actually bone China and I love how modern and simple they are with their raised lip and wide bowls! I couldn’t recommend enough if you are in the market for new dishes. They also come with really cute, simple round coffee mugs! We also purchased this silverware set for the same reason and I can’t tell you how nice it is to have matching silverware – plus it feels really good in your hands 😉 You know you’re getting old when you get so excited about new dishes LOL!
As it happens, our dining room table, light, chairs, rug and these dishes are all currently on sale (and from the same place)! Our table is GORGEOUS in my opinion – well built and I love the weathered wood detail. It’s currently marked down to over $500 less than what we paid for it two years ago which makes it a GREAT price. Our chairs come in a set of two and we actually just purchased a set because we had broken one chair in the move. They’re very easy to put together and surprisingly comfortable given that they’re all metal. The light we have over the table is the smaller version of the pendant light we have hanging in our foyer and we LOVE them both. I love the clean black lines which gives it a modern yet timeless look and feel.
What do you think? Any aspect of this setup that you love or have questions about? I’d love to hear your comments below!
Alright friends, that’s all I’ve got for you. I hope you’ll join me on IG this week as I prep and that our Thanksgiving table setting gives you some inspiration for your own! Happy Sunday!
