I explained a little while ago that I didn’t put a whole lot of thought or effort into Fischer’s room before we had Beckham. Once we moved the crib out of there and into the new nursery, I furnished his room with a full sized bed and a new dresser – and that was it. It was cute (picture below)! But the pieces in there didn’t make much sense for the space and I quickly regretted what I had done for him.
the before.
As you can see, there wasn’t a lot of space to play and the sign on the wall felt fairly out of place now that his room wasn’t really a nursery anymore. The rocker definitely didn’t work in the space anymore either. It just needed some reworking.
the after.
So, once we were nice and settled with the new baby, I began redirecting some focus to a much deserving three year-old and the ‘big boy room’ that he deserved. I knew I wanted a few things for his room: more space for him to play, a new rug (preferably one that is washable) and to downsize his bed to a twin. I began by moving his bookshelf into the closet and removing the rocking chair. Then, I ordered this bed off Ebay, which was a total win! I was a little hesitant at first but its such good quality and looks exactly like the listing photos. Finally, I ordered a few things for his walls and a new Nugget couch for him to read in and play on! The Nugget will be here in a few weeks, but other than that his room is finished. What do you think!?
This rug, although thin, is so soft! I love the neutral tones and the fact that it’s WASHABLE! It pairs perfectly with the bedding I got him from Target too 🙂
framed print.
The framed print on Fischer’s wall is the ‘Vintage Vessels’ print from Collection Prints and it is beautiful! Fisch is a huge fan of boats – specifically pirate ships – and although these ships aren’t technically pirate ones, the beautiful billowy sails give that affect and he got the biggest smile on his face when he saw it! Collection Prints now offers frames too so you can order your print, have it framed and shipped all in one fell swoop if you’d like! Alternatively, you can just order the digital files and use a print you already have if you’d rather. Click here to visit the Collection Prints shop!
