a golden experience.
During our trip to California, the weather was cold and wet. On our last morning, we got up early, left our hotel and drove 20 minutes north to the Golden Gate Bridge. We’d crossed it a couple of times before as we traveled to and from Napa, but the fog was so thick and wet that we hadn’t had the chance to see it. That wasn’t the case at all on this morning.
There is a lookout point just across the bridge that you can drive to. One of the coolest experiences was walking up that hill, cheeks stinging from the cold air, watching as the tall red towers of the Golden Gate Bridge slowly came into sight. What we saw at the top was so breathtaking. The sun coming up over the city on the horizon slowly began to permeate the clouds, creating the most amazing backdrop behind the bridge.
This was definitely one of my favorite experiences of our trip. Maybe even one of my favorite things we’ve done to date. I expected there to be crowds of people, but that wasn’t the case. Standing there with just a couple others created such an intimate setting for G and I to enjoy the beauty in. If you haven’t been and ever get a chance – I’d definitely recommend you go! 🙂
What I wore.
I wore a pair of jeans, a soft white sweater and layered this navy blue blazer over it all. It was the perfect outfit to keep warm up on the hillside and then go to the airport for a long trip back to the east coast!
