it was a great year..
Every year at this time, I love to take a morning to reflect on the previous 365 days. No matter what, there have always been less than my fair share of downs and way more ups than I deserve.
2016 was especially good to G and I. Some really exciting things happened – the kinds of things that made us grow, made us proud and made us feel challenged. Moving from Tallahassee to Atlanta – 5 hours away from G’s parents (who have always been less than 15 minutes away) and more than 6 hours away from mine – was probably the biggest thing that happened. We were given the opportunity to do some life-changing traveling. We found out two of my absolute best friends would soon be parents and that we would become “aunt” and “uncle”. Two years of marriage were celebrated. A new member was added to our family. We both took huge steps in furthering our careers and we began to seriously talk about growing our family.
I’m so thankful for the year 2016. For everything it taught us and for every blessing that God deemed us worthy of.
2017 resolutions..
I hesitate to call these “resolutions” because that word implies that these are things that I can accomplish solely on my own. Rather, I feel like these are more like goals that I can only hope to achieve with the help of God and those around me. If you pray, I’d love it if you could pray for me and this list of goals of mine. I, in turn, would love to pray for you and any goals you have for this upcoming year as well – please comment below and let me know how I can lift you up!
Here’s what I hope to accomplish this year:
- Love my husband better than I ever have.
- Carve out at least 20 minutes each morning to spend time in the Word and prayer.
- Re-establish my workout routine and apply it at least 3 days a week.
- Spend less money on myself.
- Give of my time and resources. Generously.
I’m sure there are things that I’m forgetting to add to this list, but my hope is that publishing it for all of you to read will help me to stay accountable!
I just want to thank you all so much for your support of A Glimpse of Glam in 2016. I hope that 2017 will be GG’s best year yet and that you will be a part of it! Happy New Year, my friends.
PS – somehow I left it out, but Hawaii should be listed under “Places Visited” 😉 We spent a week on the big island for our 2nd wedding anniversary.. and it was truly one of the best weeks of my life!
