bumpdate: 18 weeks.

It’s been a couple of weeks, but I’ve finally gotten a chance to give another bumpdate on our little bundle of joy. Since I last updated you all, my belly has grown, it’s getting harder to sleep comfortably and I’ve developed this really annoying occasional lower back pain. BUT other than that, things are good and I’m excited for what’s ahead! We’ll be working on his nursery more and more and we go to the doctor for his anatomy scan next week. Soon we’ll be halfway there! Read on to see what else is going on with our little babe 🙂

Bump Analysis: This bump is definitely growing.. Not sure how much longer I’ll be able to hold out on maternity clothes. As it is, I can no longer comfortably wear any of my jeans. Also, even after the smallest meal or snack, my stomach feels SO FULL haha!

Month/Trimester: 4.5 months [18 weeks] / 2nd trimester

Food of the week: Baby boy is the size of a sweet potato!

Development: According to my research, he’s moving more than ever and it’s only a matter or time until I start to feel it! His facial features are coming along and he can yawn, hiccup and swallow.

Movement: No definitive signs of movement yet.

Name: Still keeping it to ourselves for now 😉

Weight Gain: 8 pounds!

Symptoms: I’m having some occasional lower back pain and my am getting over a stretch of annoying skin issues. But other than that – no complaints!

Cravings: Proteins (steak) and fruits (strawberries and apples).

Aversions: None lately.. he’s been kind 🙂

Sleep: I told G the other night that I think it’s about time for a body pillow. I like to sleep sort of half on my belly and half on my side and that is no longer very comfortable.

Maternity Clothes: I’ve been sticking to dresses to avoid the need for maternity clothes for as long as possible lol!

Exercise: I’ve been trying to walk a few times a week and a 30 minute workout at home just as often.

Wedding Rings: On.

Stretch Marks: Nope.

Preparations for Baby: His crib and bedding arrived last week! We also just received our bassinet from my best friends and my in-laws were kind enough to order his car seat and stroller while they were here this past weekend!

Labor Signs: Nope!

What I miss: Queso and turkey sandwiches!

Looking forward to: Putting his nursery together 🙂
