As I was cleaning this space today, it hit me just As I was cleaning this space today, it hit me just how far we’ve come since this time last year🥺 This summer felt so much sweeter and it was in part due to the fact that I wasn’t taking multiple trips a day out to the hose to do our family’s dishes (rain or shine)🫠 Yikes.. never again lol Have you ever lived through a reno? Swipe to see what this little boys room looked lik Swipe to see what this little boys room looked like just a few weeks ago🫣 When we first moved in and were redoing the boys’ rooms, I felt a mama’s urge to help them feel more ‘at home’ as quickly as I possibly could.. so I let them make most of the design choices — including paint color😅. In this case.. it led to a room that felt almost impossible to transform into a 4 year old’s space - somewhere he’d want to play and sleep and just feel happy and cozy in.. Then came the news we were having guests for the weekend — and it was then that I suggested we give it a new paint color. To my surprise, my son immediately said, “can we paint it white?!” Yes, my boy🥹 Yes we can.. Building our kitchen alcove frame✨ The main thi Building our kitchen alcove frame✨ The main thing you have to think about when building one of these is the support you’ll need for your ventilation device. In our case, we have a larger/heavier vent hood to accommodate our 48” gas range, so I had to make sure it was surrounded by a frame that wouldn’t fall. Everything else was just about supporting drywall! It only took 18 months🫣😬 Between the layers It only took 18 months🫣😬 Between the layers and layers of paint, the back and forth of what sort of ‘vibe’ I wanted and the search for the perfect light for the low ceiling.. there were many factors that led to the drawn out finish of this foyer.
