Usually, when the seasons change, it’s a my cue to start looking for some sort of new door decoration. I came across the idea for this DIY floral letter decoration on Pinterest and thought it was the perfect project for a Sunday afternoon. I gathered a few simple “ingredients” (silk flowers, a large wooden letter, glue gun and sticks and scissors) and, from start to finish, the entire project took me maybe 15 minutes. Simply pull off or cut off the fake flower buds from the stems and glue them onto the wood letter in whatever manner you choose. Just a tip – if you want the floral letter to keep the shape of the wooden letter, be sure to keep the flowers inside of the wood. Allowing them to spill over the edge decreases the sharpness of the letter. If you find that the flowers end up spilling over the edges, just take your scissors and trim along the side of the letter to create a nice clean edge.
And that’s it! I then used a pice of string and hot glued both sides of it to the back. You could also use ribbon!
This project is great as a door “wreath” – but you could easily use it to decorate indoors as well. Do me a favor – if you make your own floral letter, post it on instagram and tag me – @amanda__fontenot – I’d love to see what you make!!
Happy Tuesday, friends 🙂
