As some of you may know, about three months ago I started a spring capsule wardrobe with the intent to do three things: save a little money by not being tempted to buy new pieces, challenge myself to get the most out of the pieces that I already have and love and to simplify my life a bit by creating more space in my closet/using less time to pick through what I wanted to wear. I started all this back in April and said that my goal was to make it 90 days without buying anything new – just creating and posting outfits from clothes I already had..
Well, I’m happy to report that after 12 weeks I have succeeded! Well.. Okay, I think I bought two dresses during the process… but trust me, that is still a HUGE win for this girl 😉 Normally, in 3 months I would have put a sizable dent in our bank account and have so many pieces of clothing that are great in the moment, but that ultimately overwhelm, get overlooked and become obsolete.
This experience has been, hands down, so great – not only practically, but I have learned so much about what I like, what my style preferences are and what a great piece really is in terms of all that to me. It’s definitely an exercise that I would recommend trying and even living by. I’m excited to start thinking about my fall/winter capsule wardrobe and will let you know what I come up with later this month! For now, here is a quick little recap of some of my favorite outfits from the last 12 weeks!
