Welp, we’re six months in and I’m just starting to give a proper bumpdate.. if that’s not typical of a second baby I don’t know what is 😉 But so many of you expressed that you were excited to follow along with these when I first announced our pregnancy, so I wanted to make sure I got a few of them in before it’s too late! I’ll try to do them every other week from here on out!
I’ll use the same question and answer format I did with Fischer’s bumpdates.. so here we go!
Bump Analysis:
My normal ‘innie’ belly button is officially popping, lol! It’s also funny to me that, at this point last pregnancy, I was sporting the ‘dark line’ or linea nigra– but this time it’s very, very faint! At this point, not much fits – even some of the items I bought in the spring thinking I’d be able to wear them in the summer.. not so much lol! I often find myself reaching for G’s t-shirts to wear around the house because they’re much comfier than anything I own right now!
Month/Trimester: 6 months [25 weeks] / 2nd trimester
Food of the week: Rutabega
Development: Baby boy weighs about 1.5 pounds and has grown almost two inches in the last week!
Movement: He kicks coooonstantly. Which is such a blessing, especially considering he is a rainbow baby.
Name: We’re keeping it a secret until he’s born ?
Mom Update.
Weight Gain: At this point, I’ve gained about 18 pounds total. Which is interesting that I’m tracking almost exactly with the weight gain I posted in Fischer’s 24 week bumpdate! We’ll see how the rest goes.
Symptoms: My fatigue lately has been coming back in full-force. We’re talking it feels like I’m in the first trimester all over again. Part of that, I think, is due to everything we’ve had going on lately – projects, Fischer’s potty training, etc. but I know some of it has to do with nearing the third trimester!
Cravings: My watermelon craving has settled down a bit and, lately, it’s been apples and caramel dip lol!
Aversions: No real aversions to post for this bumpdate!
Sleep: I’ve actually been sleeping really well! I use a regular body pillow at night. I haven’t had the need to break out my pregnancy pillow yet, but I’m sure that day is coming.
Maternity Clothes: The only actual ‘maternity’ item I’ve been wearing are a pair of denim shorts. The exact ones I have are unavailable, but these look to be pretty close!
Exercise: Currently, I’ve actually been doing a couple of Kayla Itsines prenatal total body workouts and have liked them a lot! I found them free on her site. My goal has been to work out three times a week, so I do two of her workouts and then a prenatal yoga session or something else that I find online.
Wedding Rings: On!
Stretch Marks: None so far! I’ve been using a combination of this oil and this body butter at night before bed and in the morning after my shower. I used it during Fischer’s pregnancy too and I’ve yet to notice any stretch marks.
Looking Forward.
Preparations for Baby: Breaking ground on the nursery THIS WEEK (finally)! So, keep an eye out on Instagram.
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness. I did start feeling Braxton Hicks contractions pretty early during this pregnancy, though, which sort of freaked me out! But all normal and nothing to worry about.
What I miss: At this point in my last pregnancy I was saying I missed turkey sandwiches, but I wised up this time and have just been heating up my deli meat to the point of steaming (to kill any potential bad stuff) and have been enjoying a turkey sandwich for lunch here and there! Not missing anything too much – maybe a little alcohol because potty training can be stressful HAHA but nothing huge!
Looking forward to: Last weekend we booked a little family vacation for next month and I’m SO excited to get out of town with my boys! It’ll be the first time we’ve really gone anywhere just us three since Fischer was about 6 months old (almost two years ago)! I’ll share where we’re going in stories this week and ask for your destination recommendations – so stay tuned 😉
And that’s it! 🙂 I plan to give the next bumpdate at 27 weeks.. which will be the start of my third trimester! This pregnancy is flying by – thanks so much for following along with me and our sweet boy!
