Every so often, I get the itch to refresh a room in our home. Right now, it’s our primary bedroom. There are a few things I’m planning on changing, some things I’ve already purchased/done and a DIY project that I still want to do for that room. I wanted to share them on here in case you might find inspiration from my bedroom design board and so that we can share in this little vision of mine together!

First, here is what the room currently looks like:

Not bad, right? Also, not shown are our green curtains.. So the room is very green-heavy or at least it feels that way to me. Originally it felt very homey and serene to me but lately it just feels heavy and I’m just in need of a change!

Design board.

Here is my design board for the space. The nightstand and lamps are not exactly what is in our space – I used the nightstands I was hoping ours would look close to after I refinished them – and the lamp in the design is one that I would choose if I hadn’t just replaced ours recently. A note about the lamp that you see here – I did recently purchase one and LOVE it. It’s currently living on my desk in my office! It looks more expensive than it is, is well made AND it’s dimmable!

What I’m Changing.

So the few things I am changing are:

Framing the windows with trim.

I’ve shown this process a few times over on my instagram as I’ve done it to our living room, the nursery, playroom, my office and the dining room! I’ll be showing it again in stories so stay tuned! Installing trim around our windows has made SUCH a big difference and spray painting the actual windows themselves freshens up the space so much. I don’t think we’ll be doing black windows in our room, but even freshening up the white will make a huge impact!

Rug

I think every bedroom needs a rug and we’ve gone without one long enough! I think the one I found will do a great job of drawing out and matching the colors in our new euro shams.

Art above bed

I’ve used this artwork in a couple of my designs for other people now and I love it so much I wanted to use it in our room too! It’s a print I found on Etsy and I’ve also linked the frame that I’m getting to go with it.

Curtains

As I mentioned before, the current green drapes in our room just feel too heavy. I found these at Target which happened to go on sale recently so I scooped them up! They haven’t come in yet so I’ll share how I like them when they do – I hope they work!

Faux olive tree

I’ve always had visions of a faux tree in one of the corners of our room. And ever since we got our live olive tree I’ve been hooked on using them more in my designs! This one that I’ve found is a great price for a nice tall faux tree.

Gallery wall with frame TV (not pictured in design)

So, this will probably be the last component that gets added to our room but I’m super excited about it! G made me a deal that I could purchase another Frame TV (we have one in our living room and we LOVE IT but they’re pricey), once I reached a certain milestone here with my blog… and I’m almost there! Once I order that I’ll be ordering some frames and prints to go around it on the wall opposite our bed. The idea there is to have a TV on the wall of our bedroom that you won’t even be able to tell is there. My inspiration comes from Shelby’s Frame TV gallery wall shown here.. isn’t it beautiful!?

What’s staying the same.

Our actual furniture and bedding (except for the euro shams and pillows themselves) will be staying the same. I am in the process of refinishing our furniture so it will look different when it’s all said and done. And then our bed itself is staying the same because I still love it! Our exact one is currently unavailable, but I’ve linked one I love even more! I’m also linking our actual nightstands and dresser, but just know that I didn’t like the color 😉 They’re great otherwise!

That’s it! I’ll share the updates as I make them over on my Instagram stories 🙂 Thanks for following along!!
