Maybe it’s the pregnancy glow, but I’ve gotten a few requests to share my skincare routine lately.. So, here goes! I have to admit – my routine is pretty basic and consists of mostly drugstore products. However, there are a few things I’ve started using fairly recently that are not drugstore. Come to think of it, they may be the reason I’m starting to get questions about my skin! I also have a have a few tips and tricks, so be sure to read this post thoroughly! Let’s start with the products I use daily.
My daily skincare products.
Like most people, I tend to my skin twice a day: in the morning and at night before bed. My morning routine starts in the shower and these are the products I use in order:
Morning
- Apricot Scrub – I used to use the St. Ives apricot scrub, but after trying the Target brand and not seeing a difference in anything but the price tag, I usually opt for the Up&Up scrub! I know some people say to only use this once a week, but when I don’t exfoliate everyday I notice my skin just gets dry and patchy so I just use a small amount each morning!
- Cetaphil Daily Face Wash (I use the one for Normal to Oily Skin) – After scrubbing the dead skin cells away, I wash my face with the same face wash I’ve been using since high school. I LOVE this stuff and have never felt the need to use anything else! It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean without drying it out.
- Aveeno Moisturizer – After my shower I get out and apply this moisturizer. It contains SPF, is really light and not greasy at all. This is another one I’ve been using for YEARS. I’ve tried other moisturizers, but nothing compares to the moisture this one gives without making my skin feel heavy or greasy.
- Biossance Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel – I received this in a free trial version with my last makeup order and have been using it for a little while now. It’s focus is on removing puffiness around your eyes and reducing dark circles – AKA- every mom’s secret weapon! I honestly think this is one of the main reasons I’m getting asked about my skin lately. When your eyes look better, your whole face looks better!
Night
Each night, I simply wash my face with my Cetaphil cleanser, but with one essential adjustment. I use a clean washcloth to gently scrub away the day’s makeup, dirt and oils. I think this is such an important of aspect of cleansing that doesn’t get enough credit. As long as your cloth is clean, it will only aid in clearing out pores and polishing your skin’s surface. For reference, I change my cloth out every other day or so.
That’s it for daily products! Pretty simple and affordable! The Eye Gel is, of course, a little more expensive. But I’m starting to see that it’s totally worth it to invest in a few quality skincare products. And that it only takes one or two to make a huge difference!
My weekly skincare routine.
Okay, this is where it starts getting complicated.. Totally joking! There are only two things I’m currently doing on a weekly basis.
Tula Instant Facial Treatment Pads – These are amazing! They’re double-sided for the perfect balance of exfoliation and cleansing. Plus, they’re packed with lots of skin-renewing ingredients. I have LOVED these and they way they reset my skin for a new week. I usually do them on Sunday nights. I’ll try to remember to show you guys on stories the next time I use one!
Tinkle Eyebrow Razor – These are made specifically for your eyebrows, but I use them for my whole face. YUP – you read that right. I’ve actually been doing this for YEARS – even before I started seeing other bloggers and personalities talk about this process. Basically, I use these razors to shave my face and I HIGHLY recommend it!! Not only does it remove unwanted hair around your eyebrows, upper lip, etc. but it also MAJORLY exfoliates your skin. It doesn’t hurt and your hair DOES NOT GROW BACK DARKER. Also, it creates a soft, smooth surface that makes a HUGE difference in the way your makeup applies and looks. I’m not kidding y’all. Try it – you won’t be sorry!!! One more thing – these Tinkle razors specifically are the BEST for this process. I’ve used all kinds and nothing compares to these.. trust me!
And that’s it! Now I want to hear from you! I’d love for you to share any products that you’re currently using or loving in your own skincare routine! And as always, feel free to leave questions or comments in the section below. Thanks for being here!
