single to double stroller
We have the Mockingbird single to double stroller which can easily go from holding one kid to two kids – and back again! Currently, we have an infant and a toddler and I love how easy it’s been to use the stroller with two toddler seats or a toddler seat and infant carrier!
capabilities
Let’s talk about what all this stroller can do – besides seating multiple kids at once. Perhaps my favorite capability is that it can be folded down with just one hand. The sliding button on the handle releases the stroller so that, even while holding your baby, you can easily fold you stroller down for storage. Great for doing things on the go – especially if you’re out and about without help.
This stroller is also extremely user-friendly. There are several different seating options where the toddler seats can face forward, backward and a mix of both. With a simple push of a button the seats release and can be turned whichever way you (or your child) prefers. The seats also feature adjustable footrests to keep your kiddos comfortable during their ride.
The hoods on the stroller can also be removed if you prefer and there is a velcro flap that allows for more airflow on hot days as well as a peekaboo window that allows you to check in on them during naps for peace of mind!
One of the coolest things about this stroller is how adjustable the handle height is. It has five or six different positions to make it comfortable to push from just about any height or angle!
In terms of storage, the basket is plenty big enough. So much so that we were able to take our stroller to costco reently and use it as our basket to hold everything we were getting 😉 Obviously we weren’t there to do a full stock-up, but the point is that it’s very roomy!
If your’e wondering how well it fits in the trunk of a car, this is our trick – take the second seat off before folding it up and stowing it away. We find it easier to fit in our trunk that way. For reference, we have an Acura RDX, which is a midsize SUV and it fits with room to spare! I imagine with a sedan or smaller car it could get a little dicey, but this is our second stroller (our first was a Nuna single seat capability) and it fits just as well, if not better as that one did!
accessories
One of my favorite things about this stroller is that Mockingbird offers all of your favorite accessory options at a completely reasonable price. Whether you’d like a bassinet for your newborn, a cupholder for your drink or even a snack tray for your toddler – you can take your pick according to your needs without worrying about price point.
If you’re wondering about car seat ability, Mockingbird offers one adapter that spans several different car seat brands and models. Click here to go to their page where you can easily determine if their adapter will work with your model. The best part? It only costs $30!
aesthetics
This stroller truly looks high-end. I absolutely love the leather handlebar and crossbars and think they help make it look so chic and modern! You can choose between brown and black which is nice. You can also choose the color of your stroller’s visor hood(s). I also really like the metal frame and think its one more feature that reminds me of a couple other more expensive brands.
As far as my review goes, that’s it! I do have one piece of advice and a word about safety in the next section below!
additional info and advice
Just a word to all my first-time parents out there! Make sure you assess whether or not you plan to have multiple kids before you purchase a stroller. If you know that you want at least two kids, do the sensible thing and buy a stroller that can convert into a double stroller! We did not do that the first time around and I have no idea why lol! Especially since our first stroller was the Nuna Mixx, which isn’t exactly cheap… learn from us!
Safety warning – just want to make it abundantly clear that if you’re using this stroller with your infant they need to either be in their compatible carrier (car seat) or in the toddler seat WITH the infant insert. If using the latter, make sure the seat is reclined as far back as possible and that they’re strapped in securely. That’s pretty standard practice for any stroller you purchase, but just want to make sure I brought it up 🙂 Your other option would be to purchase the stroller carriage from their accessories page!
