In the days and weeks leading up to our first plane trip with Fischer last month, I have to admit I was pretty nervous. But I solicited tips and advice (special shoutout to my good friend Meredith!) and got so much great feedback that by the time we left I felt pretty prepared. The information you find in the tips below are the 10 biggest things that helped me plan for our trip, as well as some info that I learned from the experience of our travels. I hope it helps! Take your stroller and infant car seat with you through the airport. They’ll check them free of charge at the gate and will have them waiting for you when you get off the plane. Something to think about: whether or not you’re going to a place that requires you to use a car seat. For example, when we went…

a panama city gem. When you think of Panama City Beach, the first thing that comes to mind may not be a family-friendly vacation. However, that’s exactly what you get at 4114 Jan Cooley Drive – aka, the Sheraton Bay Point Resort. The property is serene, beautiful and contains everything you need for a rejuvenating weekend away. G and I arrived on Friday and immediately fell in love. This coastal accommodation, which undertook a multi-million dollar renovation this past fall, was gorgeous. From the posh lobby to the courtyard in the back spanning two pools and a bar, to the Nicklaus Design golf course and the boardwalk leading to the Sheraton’s private beach.. it was truly amazing. day 1: exploration and a sunset. We stayed in one the the King Rooms, which had a beautiful view from our private balcony, and were so impressed by the quality of the details in…

Zion National Park and Angel’s Landing. A couple of months ago, G found out that he would be attending a conference in Las Vegas. So, naturally, I began planning a way for us to make the most out of his paid way there and the long holiday weekend. Emily and Carolyn – the two friends I went to Yosemite with – had both recently gone to Zion and hiked Angel’s Landing. The way they talked about it convinced me it was something G and I had to do. As it turns out, hiking up a 1500 ft mountain in 106 degree heat may have been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But it was so worth it! If you don’t know anything about Angel’s landing, it’s about a 5- mile hike that begins with an extremely steep hike up a winding path. About halfway through, you reach the first…

my favorite announcement ever. Of all the cool things and fun adventures that G and I have taken part in together, I have to say this is by far my absolute favorite. No, I don’t mean the trip we just took to Zion National Park and Antelope Canyon – although that was pretty great too! Watch this video to catch some scenes from our trip and to catch the big announcement at the end. We are so over the moon excited for this next big adventure!! 🙂 If you want to read more about our actual trip and see where we stayed when we visited Zion, head on over to this post! Happy 4th of July, friends!
