beauty purchases.

I’ll be perfectly honest with you guys – I’m not a huge makeup person. At least, I wasn’t before becoming a mom. But there’s something about sleepless nights, hormones and weight fluctuation that just makes you feel like you need a little extra help.. am I right?! During the recent Sephora sale, I went ahead and splurged, justifying my purchases with the above reasons PLUS I haven’t bought new beauty items in LITERAL years. The great thing about buying makeup and skincare products is that, yes the good stuff is usually pretty pricey but, at least for me, they last for MONTHS if not more! I go makeup-less or at least minimal makeup at least a couple of times a week to give my skin a break – which not only saves me time but it ensures my products last longer.

All that being said, I have been using these products for about a week now and am LOVING them so much that I had to share! Let me know if you guys want me to create a post (maybe with a video?!) of me actually using these babies and I’ll show you my process with it all!

face:

iT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup: My search for new makeup and skin products actually began when I noticed that I was running out of my favorite makeup remover. After searching high and low I found that it was no longer available anywhere, so I began researching other options. I came across this 3-in-1 cleansing balm and, after reading the positive reviews, decided to give it a try. It not only removes your makeup quickly and easily, but it also serves as a fine line reducer and gives my skin the perfect amount of moisture! Perfect for tired  mamas who are beginning to see those sleepless, stressful nights show up on their face 😉

Laura Mercier Setting PowderI don’t know about you, but I see no reason to spend the time and effort in putting makeup on if it’s just going to run or disappear a few hours later. Enter the setting powder. Just a little bit of this stuff ensures your makeup not only stays put all day, but doesn’t run either. With hot summer days and events coming up, this setting powder is great to have in your arsenal!

iT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPFThis is another summer must-have. I am usually a powder foundation person, but was looking for something with would cover a little more evenly and that also had SPF. The CC cream blends so beautifully and really gives your skin the perfect base, moisture and protection.

SMASHBOX Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer: So believe me when I say I was the first to turn up my nose at primers. I always just felt like they didn’t do anything and were a money pit. This one by Smashbox, however, truly makes a difference. Now that I’ve found it I can’t see myself going back. I use it before I put on concealer or foundation and it gives such a smooth canvas for applying both!

cheeks:

Bobby Brown blush in Tawny: I’ve been wanting to try this blush for a long time now and am so glad that I did! It’s super pigmented so a little really goes a long way. I’ve just been sweeping a little onto the apples of my cheeks lately and it gives the perfect amount of coral-y hue to my cheeks!

Bobbi Brown BronzerFor me, the perfect bronzer is two things: matte and well pigmented. This covers both of those with ease and gives the prettiest sun-kissed glow.

eyes:

LANCÔME Monsieur Big Mascara: My lashes have definitely been lacking lately and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels as though I just don’t look ‘awake’ without a couple layers of good mascara. This was another item that seemed too good to pass up after reading reviews. I may actually do a post JUST on this mascara and how I use it because I just love it that much!

accessories:

Beauty Blender: Take it from me, this thing is worth the money! A little tip: run it under some cool water and squeeze it out before use. If it’s damp when you go to blend your concealer and foundation it works even better!

Let me know if you guys would like to see that tutorial post on how I use these products! Might be fun/helpful to see it all in action 🙂
